Undercover Glimpse Art of Intelligent: The Importance of Nap Time (LittleKittle Homeschool Room 2010)

Post by MamaFiza on January 5, 2010

moshi-moshi my faithful ladies ;)

Alhamdulillah, it’s a new year 2010, new you on shine >O<

I assume, new year  will always brings a fresh start, let start our day with a twinkle bang!

Don’t forget that new year can spark green start in marriage relationships too.

As individual, we tends to let down it’s guard and act it’s worst around those who we are most familiar with: husband and kids.

Trust me, there is no better time than now to get started on making positive steps forward in the upcoming months, from changes in your personal life and family endeavors. It is a good way to get motivated.

Below are some pictures from my kids homeschool room for year 2010 (click here for pictures from year 2007, 2008 and 2009).

However, it’s still under-construction as I’m trying to change the feature-wall setup and create new design for my beloved kids.

New map for big bro KiruaMi-cHan & big sis ReiHi-cHan.

World & Geographic homeschool module.

New poster of Arabic letters for
little sis YunaFi-cHan and baby HidE-cHan >_<

More books will be added for year 2010
and my kids starts to collect their personal favorite comics. Hoho!

Private reading corner and math-wall for my kiddies ^-^

Year spots! Mirror & magnetic calendar from PlayHouse Disney.
It’s a place for my kids to learn mimicking unfamiliar words or new letters.
Months-wall to count for their secret special occasion. Resemble by their favorite icon :-D

Before this my kids sleep on their own bed at night (for bed time). Yet, in daytime for nap, we used woven mattress + blankets, spread in homeschool room for our kiddies to rest after hectic homeschool day.

But for this year, due to my kids endlessly passion on their daily learning schedule, my hubby rewards them with new “divison” in their homescool room just for nap purpose.

Simply wait, what it is?

. . . . .

. . .

. .

.

It is  . . . .

Yes, it’s a BUNK BED!

Yippie *Alhamdulillah* We’re exceptionally happy :-D

Tadaaa . . .~

A bunk bed is a type of bed in which one bed frame is stacked on top of another. The nature of bunk beds allows two people to sleep in the same room while maximizing available floor space.

We’ve new bright bubblegum curtains too ^-^ *super joy!*

The top bed is normally surrounded by a railing to prevent the sleeper from falling out, and because of the need for a ladder and the height of the bed, the top bunk of a bunkbed is NOT recommended for children under six years of age.

Alhamdulillah, now this bunk bed set became doubles as a fort and a story time area in daytime for my kids.

Art of Intelligent? Certainly: Nap Time!

Definitely I’m the one whom continuously co-nap with them *heee*. I rediscovered napping in my primary school’s time. I’d spend a free hour in my bed, back in my room, and that little catnap refreshed me so much.

Personally, I often take short naps on weekend afternoons and find that it give me a good boost of energy to contribute great time with my family  *Alhamdulillah*.

Note: I get my ‘kiss & cuddle’ in the morning when my kids first wakes up, we ‘hugs’ (snuggle, tickle and giggle) and ‘private talk’ for about 15 minutes before they gets out of bed. It’s our special little tradition and I’m cherishing every moment of it, as time moves so quickly and soon I’m gonna miss their childhood.

All four of my children have co-slept at some point and for some duration or another.

Okie dookie, here’s some tips I would like to share on how to maximize your napping potential with your cute angel:

Step 1: Be sure to find a dark, cozy, silent spot. If you’re taking a cat nap somewhere with your kids, darkness is more important than a squishy couch.

Step 2: Use a thin pillow, and your head & your kid’s head shouldn’t be higher then your/her/his knees.

Step 3: Prop your/her/his legs and knees as high as possible, the higher your/her/his leg, and ideally they should be above your heart, the better your back will feel and circulation will improve. This, in turn, will allow you to feel more rested.

Step 4: Don’t nap more than 30 minutes. Try to nap at the same time each day, and use an alarm clock to ensure that you don’t sleep for too long.

Learning to nap and enjoy its restorative benefits can help you wake up restored, rejuvenated, and ready for the rest of your day.

Alert: Don’t use a heavy blanket, becoming overheated will cause a panicky doze.

Weee . . . ;)

Napping is a pleasurable yet brief period of sleep when our minds and bodies can take a break. Though judged by many to be a pastime for children or the elderly, napping can benefit people of all ages.

Don’t you know?
Taking nap for a half-hour can be an enjoyable way to promote physical well-being, and naps have been known to improve your mood and memory. A 30-minute nap can sharpen your senses and revitalize you, while a ten minute nap can leave you feeling more cheerful. Falling into a light sleep during the daytime can feel meditative.

Till then sweet ladies, please do treasure your new homeschool semester ;) I say it all the time, so you know I mean it.

I hope you are enjoying this week and those of you with children home on holiday break try to enjoy it!

God bless each of you!

Best of luck mommies ;)
